Final payment is the last payment made to secure your trip. It represents the point at which the full cost of the trip has been paid or becomes due to the travel provider (such as an airline, cruise line, or tour operator).
The Cruise plan is the only plan that allows eligibility for the pre-existing condition waiver based on the timing of the final trip payment, rather than the initial deposit.
The pre-existing condition waiver is included when the policy is purchased within 24 hours of the final trip payment, provided that:
-
The insured, traveling companion, or family member is scheduled or booked to travel with the insured
-
The insured is not disabled from travel at the time the premium is paid
The pre-existing condition waiver applies only to travelers covered under the policy and does not extend to family members who are traveling but not insured under the policy.
