Divorce or separation is generally not considered a covered reason under standard trip cancellation coverage. Most travel insurance plans only reimburse cancellations for specific unforeseen events listed in the policy, such as illness, injury, death, severe weather, or other covered perils.
However, if you purchased an optional “Cancel For Any Reason” (CFAR) upgrade, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement of the unused, non-refundable trip costs, provided all CFAR requirements are met, such as cancelling within the required timeframe before departure.
